- I found this product at store "x". Do you carry this product? Can you match the product I purchased from store "x"?
-
Most likely, yes. Since many stores use private labels, it will be a good idea to bring a sample of the product you'd like us to match. We carry a large selection of floor coverings.

- How much will it cost me to carpet my house?
-
This certainly varies among our customers specific situations. A rough rule of thumb is around $30 per square yard (i.e. carpet, pad, and installation). Please stop by our show room, so we can give you a much better estimate!

- Do you do free estimates? Do I need an appointment?
-
Yes, we do free estimates! Please call us at 651-292-1011 to schedule an appointment with one of our Sales Consultants.

- How long will it be until I have my new carpet?
-
Scheduling availability varies, so please call us at 651-292-1011 to get the current scoop! It typically takes about 2 weeks to give us an appropriate window to order/receive your new flooring and schedule an installer. There are exceptions to this general rule of thumb, and of course we seek to be as accommodating as possible. Please give us a call to discuss your specific situation!

- How long does it take to install carpet?
-
This varies from one install to the next, and depends largely on the size of the installation crew. Most of our crews can install about 15 yards of carpet and pad per hour (on average).

- How far from the floor do I install base? Should the base be installed before or after the carpet is installed?
-
Base should be installed about 3/8" above the floor. This allows the installer to tuck the new carpet under the base providing a nice finished look. The base should be installed before installing the new carpet, since this will allow for greater consistency.

- How far do you travel outside of the metro area?
-
Most of our installations are within the Minneapolis - St. Paul Metro area, but we make several exceptions. We have installed carpet in all parts of Minnesota... and have even traveled out of state in certain circumstances. Please give us a call at 651-292-1011 so we can discuss the details of your specific situation!

- How often should I have my carpet cleaned?
-
In most instances, every 2 years will be adequate. High traffic areas may require annual cleaning.

- Does CBL Floors do carpet cleaning?
-
We have a long term relationship with a reputable cleaner - Lloyd's Fiber Care- which we highly recommend. Lloyd is a former employee of CBL Floors and does an exceptional cleaning job. Lloyd's Fiber Care offers carpet cleaning, duct cleaning and mold remediation for both residential and commercial accounts. Please give Lloyd's Fiber Care a call at 651-274-6357.

- Should carpets be re-stretched before or after cleaning?
-
This is largely a matter of preference. It may be preferable to have the re-stretch after the cleaning, since steam cleaning carpets does make the backing relax somewhat (i.e. occasionally creating temporary bubbles in the carpet that usually go away after the carpet dries).

- What's the best vacuum (brand/style)?
-
Carpet manufacturers recommend a good quality upright vacuum such as the "Hoover Saavy". In general you tend to get what you pay for. Uprights are very popular, and tend to provide the best suction. Most people are satisfied with a mid-priced vacuum that has a good brush, i.e. "beater bar". Having said this, there are advantages to canister vacuums... not to mention the convenience and functionality of a quality central vac system.
